Cho Yong-pil’s 40th Anniv. Concert
Cho Yong-pil, one of the nation’s most popular singer in history, is holding a concert to celebrate his 40th anniversary as a singer under the title of “The history -- The Leopard of Kilimanjaro.”
At a press conference, filled with many reporters, photographers and his fans, he disclosed the plan of his upcoming concert tour. It will be held in 22 major cities of Korea.
Starting with the concert in Seoul on May 24, he will move on to cities like Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan throughout the year. In the concerts abroad, he will be the first Asian artist to sing at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and the Radio City Music Hall in New York this August.
”I held a concert celebrating my 35th anniversary just five years ago. It’s hard to believe that time passes so fast,” Cho said. “The utter reason I was able to do this was my fans, who have loved me for all this time,” he added.
The concert will have some fascinating features, including two walls -- both 40 meters high covered with light emitting capacitor and diode screens. Various images will upgrade the performance in both aspects of stage art and technology.
